Comic Page

Description

Students will create a comic book page that tells a small part of of a story or a very short story. Students will use what they've learned from the previous project "1, 2, 3..." relating and applying those learned skills of instructive photography to create a sequential series of panels that tell a story, like that of a comic book. This can done by recreating a scene from a book, movie or video game. By essentially creating a story board of the scene.

Process
  • Starting with sketches, students will create a 5 panel page that tells a coherent sequence of events.

  • Next students will take photos (using real life or toys) to create the panel. Then take the photos into a photo editing program and place the photos in the appropriate sequence to tell the story. Filters may be applied to the images and narrative bars and word bubbles may be used.

    • Template for comic pages can be found here.

  • After completion of the page, students will save the page as a JPEG and upload it to their website and turn in that same JPEG file into Jupiter Grades (The class gradebook).
